August Webex Teams Update

Once again it’s time again to go through the various new features that Cisco have added to Webex Teams. This month there have been some interesting and useful feature additions specifically for mobile users of Webex Teams. Let’s get into what’s new in the August Webex Teams update!

You can read about last month’s new features here.

Compress files on iOS Webex Teams clients

Cisco have added more compression options when sending files in spaces in Webex Teams. The August Webex Teams update allows iOS users to choose whether they never compress files before they are sent, or always compress them. This is a great feature to have available when sending photographs to colleagues as when they are compressed you will inevitably lose quality.

Custom links in messages

With the latest changes to Webex Teams comes a new feature related to putting links into your messages. Now you are able to select an option from the Format Text menu to insert a link. From this, you can add a link and edit the title of the link that you want the recipient to see. This will be very helpful when you are required to send multiple links in a single message. Less in space notification clutter for iOS devices

With larger Webex Teams spaces, people are constantly being added or leaving. Each time this happens a small notification pops up in between messages. With the August Webex Teams update, these notifications appear automatically collapsed with the option to expand if you wish. This is a great way to make sure people have the important information visible to them and conversations are not interrupted by notifications.

Message forwading changes for mobile users

On iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, you can now forward messages to another space within Webex Teams. This feature has been available for a while on other versions of the app but now it has made its way to mobile. This is a very useful change as it stops the need to screenshot messages which is time-consuming and presents a security risk. You can learn how to do this here.
