Integrated Care 24 (IC24) are a not-for-profit social enterprise who provide medical patients with a variety of health and care services. They handle over six million patients across a large geographical area within the UK.

The Challenge

As the coronavirus situation developed, IC24 required a platform to enable them to maintain their usual high standards of service and provide secure access to the tools employees needed to perform their jobs productively while working from a remote location.

The Solution

Fortunately, we had already been working with IC24 for a number of years and a large portion of modern Cisco solutions were already deployed. They have Cisco unified communications that were using Expressways for remote connectivity.

  • We used Webex Teams to do secure SSL connectivity across the employee base so everyone was connected.
  • Contact Center was enabled through Expressways. This allowed remote agents to receive patient calls.
  • For VPN, we implemented Cisco AnyConnect. Any sensitive data passed through a secure VPN portal.
  • This engagement ran smoothly as we had the luxury of expanding on the existing install base.

The Benefits

Modern Cisco solutions provide many benefits for customers. In this case, the existing technology was reprogrammed to fit their requirements without needing to invest in new solutions.

  • The Flex Plan we set up for them was used to add new employees quickly with ease.
  • When acquiring new licenses they no longer need to wait for a PO, pricing, or license issuing. The new licenses are available as soon as they need them.
  • The True-Forward aspect of the Flex Plan meant that all the growth within the year was completely free. They would only pay for the followings years usage.
  • Having Webex available to staff turned a big change to a smooth transition. In person meetings were quickly adapted into virtual meetings and messages.
