Bausch Health is a global medical manufacturing organisation that consists of numerous entities acquired over the years. They have roughly 150 sites and 15 thousand employees, many of whom travel between their locations in a variety of sales, marketing, and manufacturing roles.
The Challenge
We were approached in this case because Bausch Health needed a solution that would give Access Control abilities on their network for all locations across the globe. The large number of sites and employee count caused a problem and previous Access Control solutions were not working the way they wanted them to. The challenge was to provide a consistent experience for users when logging into the network wherever they were located, whatever device they were using whilst simultaneously developing a robust security policy.
The Solution
The customer already had a sizable Cisco install base, so a natural fit for us was to take Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and use that as a network access control overlay.
We developed Authentication and Authorization policies which will enable Bausch to understand who is connecting and enforce what they are allowed to access.
We fine-tuned the policies with them based on both our previous experience of best practices and their own security requirements.
The policy was then rolled out a global level.
The Benefits
Bausch Health was happy with this engagement as it solved their challenges smoothly without much disruption. There are many ongoing benefits for them after choosing to implement Cisco ISE.
The entire IT department is working off the same platform globally.
The policy is consistent across locations.
The user experience is consistent across locations.
The number of issues raised by their employees has reduced substantially.
Less time spent on dealing with access issues from users.
More time spent on project-based work within the company.

The Solution
The customer already had a sizable Cisco footprint with LAN, so a natural fit for us was to take Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and use that as a network access control overlay.
ISE has two functions: Authentication and Authorization which will enable Bausch to understand who a person is and what they are allowed to access.
We fine tuned the policies with them based on both our previous experience of best practices and their own security requirements.
