The Challenge
Bausch had a legacy firewall infrastructure. It was due to be upgraded to fit the rapidly changing landscape of cybersecurity. The hardware needed modernising as their bandwidth was increasing. Next-generation firewalls were required because of the required sophistication in threat prevention. This was a global engagement that involved over 150 sites. Consistent firewall management at any of the locations was also a goal.
The Solution
Our solution to their challenges was centred around Cisco Firepower and Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW). This is a modern solution designed to protect your network automatically and provide unparalleled visibility into your network in real-time.
We tuned the three NGFW components; IPS, anti-malware and URL filtering; to fit Bausch Health’s environment to maximise the platforms value.
The deployment was rolled out across all locations across the globe.
We implemented a policy hierarchy to create consistency across the organisation.
We ensured there were no holes in their protection across any of the location which was a critical requirement.
The Benefits
Bausch were more than satisfied with the outcome of this project. Their initial challenges were resolved and there were several other factors they continue to benefit from now they have upgraded to Cisco Firepower.
Throughput capability was substantially increased.
They have a robust feature set and control mechanism to manage all their devices through the Cisco Firepower management console.
Visibility into threats was greatly increased.
They no longer relied on manually checking logs weeks after a threat has been detected.
